SciGrip® Weld-On® #42 Adhesive is a high-strength structural adhesive designed for bonding acrylic and other plastics in fabrication and assembly applications requiring clarity and durability. This two-component reactive adhesive is commonly used for signage, displays, and fabricated plastic components where strong, clean, and permanent bonds are critical.
This material features a two-component reactive acrylic adhesive system (typically 10:1 mix ratio) that polymerizes at room temperature, forming strong, water-clear bonds with excellent weatherability and long-term performance. It is specifically formulated for bonding cast, extruded, and continuous cast acrylic, while also providing compatibility with materials such as polycarbonate, PVC, and other plastics. Weld-On® 42 produces optically clear, “museum-quality” joints with high strength, making it ideal for visible bonding applications. Working time is approximately 15 minutes, with handling strength achieved in a few hours and full machining capability after about 24 hours.
